The Nightmare Factory of Wabash, Indiana recognized as a top haunt of 2026 by the HAA with Silver certification, one of only eight in the country to reach the tier in the program's largest class ever

WABASH, IN., September 24, 2026. The Nightmare Factory has been named a 2026 Top Haunt by the Haunted Attraction Association, recognized as one of just 74 attractions nationwide, and one of only two in Indiana to receive the honor this year.

The HAA's Top Haunts program certifies attractions that meet the HAA's standards for safety, professionalism, and operational excellence, requiring active membership, completion of the association's C.H.A.O.S. safety seminar, and ongoing inspection by state and local authorities. This year's class of 74 is the largest in the program's history, up from 67 attractions in 2025.

Gold and Silver tiers were introduced this year this year, alongside the Iconic tier, to recognize excellence at newer and mid sized haunts. But don't let the tiers fool you. They rank each attraction by size, not screams. The Silver tier includes haunted attractions with 2+ years in operation and 3,000+ annual guests; the Gold tier requires 5+ years in operation and 5,000+ annual guests; Iconic haunts meet the minimum 10+ years in operation and 10,000+ annual guests.

"This means everything to us," said Ashlee Ryman, owner of The Nightmare Factory. "We built this place from the ground up, and to have the HAA put our name on the same list as some of the biggest haunts in the country tells our guests they can trust what we're building here."

The certification follows closely behind an earlier 2026 milestone for The Nightmare Factory, where five members of its cast and crew completed individual C.H.A.O.S. safety training ahead of the season. Together, the two honors reflect a haunt that has treated safety and training as a production value rather than a formality.

The Nightmare Factory's 2026 season features five main scare attractions, including Unit 713, Harow House, The Happy Place, and Sinister Stable, along with a midway of roaming monsters, an authentic morgue cooler experience, and the Town of Ashwix, home to the Tipsy Clown, a 21 and over bar.
